Author: admin // Category: , ,
.

I’m not into beauty pageant blogging, but due to the request of my friend, who is a beauty queen here in our city and also a beauty pageant fanatic, and since I don’t have something to post now, that’s why I granted her request to feature the latest result of Miss Philippines-Earth 2009.
.
A 25-year-old Filipina-German nurse and a fashion model from Negros Occidental was crowned Miss Philippines- Earth 2009 last night, May 10 televised at ABS-CBN.
.
Sandra Seifert, bested 49 other candidates from various cities and provinces all over the Philippines. She will represent the Philippines for the Miss Earth 2009 pageant this coming November.
.
If we will recall, Seifert puts into limelight and became controversial when she was disqualified by Binibining Pilipinas when she posed sexy for a men’s magazine.
.
She impressed the judges with her answer to the final question “with global environment changing, what would you like to change in yourself that will make you a better pro-environment person?’’ She answered that she became aware of environmental issues when she joined the said contest, adding that her basic awareness to the problems would help in the protection of the environment.
.
Miss Philippines- Earth held annually to search for the most beautiful Filipina who will promote environmental campaigns and who will address issues regarding saving our environment. The winner also serve as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation and other environmental organizations.

.
Aside from Seifert, Grezilda Adelantar was named Miss Phillipines Eco Tourism and Miss PAGCOR; Miss Philippines Fire is Patricia Marie Tumulak from Quezon City; Miss Philippines Air is Michelle Martha Braun of Aklan and Miss Philippines Water is Catherin Loyola of Sydney, Australia.

I'm Back at Work!

Philippines Joins Earth Day Today

Author: admin // Category: , ,
The Philippines once again joins more than 180 countries and almost half a billion people across the globe in the celebration of the 39th International Earth Day today Wednesday, April 22, with a theme that focuses on the pressing problems of global warming and climate change.
.
With the international theme, “Green Generation: Towards Low Carbon Development for Survival Against Climate Change,” the Earth Day 2009 aims to educate the people in reducing dependence on fossil fuels by developing carbon-free and renewable sources of energy to avert the effects of global warming.
.
The theme is also in sync with negotiations to lay down a new table of greenhouse gas emission (GHG) cuts for all nations during the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December.
.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has adopted a localized theme “Tubig at Lupa, Buhayin; Hangin, Linisin; Batas, Tuparin.”
.
At 9 a.m., Earth Day celebration will be at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, to be led by the DENR, together with Earth Day Network-Philippines, other non-government organizations and the private sector. DENR Secretary Jose Atienza Jr. is also expected to deliver his State of the Philippine Environment Address at the SM Mall of Asia.
.
A Eucharistic celebration for the Integrity of Creation is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. at the Pandacan Church in Manila. It will be officiated by Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales.
Meanwhile, the Sagip Pasig Movement will conduct a fluvial parade on Pasig River from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. at Plaza Mexico, Intramuros, Manila, to call the attention of Filipinos on the state of Philippine waters.
.
Simultaneous with other activites, SM Malls will hold various activities for children with the goal of making them aware of how to contribute to environmental protection and conservation.
Likewise, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, together with several partners, will host several events for Earth Day.
.
International nature conservation group Haribon Foundation Inc. has set an environmental exhibit featuring biodiversity conservation with story-telling for kids.
.
There will also be a signing of memorandum of agreements between DENR and the city government of Mandaluyong, and between Gawad Kalinga and Shell Philippines.
.
The Youth Environment Advocate Network will also be launched during event. The special day will also be highlighted by the dismantling of illegal fish structures in the Laguna Lake, and cleaning up of Manila Bay.
.
On April 24, President Arroyo, as chairwoman of the Presidential Task Force on Climate Change, will lead a special Ecology Mass at 10 a.m. at the NBN-4 studio in Visayas Avenue, Quezon City, followed by the awarding ceremonies for the Fr. Neri Satur Awards for Environmental Heroism.
.
The President will hand over this year’s awards to individuals, groups, and entities that contributed to the reduction of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions.
.
Some of the awardees include, Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, Infanta Bishop Julio Labayen, Joey Ayala, Francis Magalona, Timmy Cruz, Richard Gutierrez, Kim Atienza, Angelo Palmones, and Clemente Bautista.
.
As one of the activities for the Earth Day, Malacañang launched last Monday the “Carbon Cutting Coalition versus Climate Change,” a national advocacy movement that will actively participate in cutting carbon emissions in all sectors of society, and will call on all government agencies to help save Mother Earth.
.
“The Coalition was formed to find solutions to the pressing problem of global warming and climate change,” Presidential Adviser on Global Warming and Climate Change Secretary Heherson Alvarez said.
.
He also said a flag, which features the official logo of the coalition, will be the country’s “seal of good housekeeping,” in as far as climate change solutions are concerned.
.
Earth Day was started in 1970 led by former United States Senator Gaylord Nelson.
.
The Earth Day celebration in the Philippines has become an annual event after former President Corazon Aquino signed Proclamation No. 553, proclaiming April 22, 1990 as “Earth Day 1990.”
.
President Arroyo, on April 22, 2007, declared the annual celebration as “Philippines’ Earth Day.”

Summer Outing at Lagos Del Sol (Part 2)

Author: admin // Category: , , ,
It was a happy and tiring Company's Summer Outing at Lagos del Sol, Cavinti Laguna. Kelangan maagang gumising para hindi maiwan..actually late na nga ako sa call-time. Past 11:00AM na kami nakarating sa resort due to traffic and kasi..naligaw kami! 11:44AM, we arrived at the resort. Sobrang init and medyo gutom na kami..but still we need to run a program..and nagkaroon kami ng mga fun games. Past 12:oonn we had our lunch time. Infairness masarap naman ang mga food that the resort prepared eventhough mga typical lang na pagkain na usual na hinahanda sa house during lunch time. 1:00pm onwards is our free time and our moment to take rest and feel the ambiance of the resort. Malas lang at umulan ng malakas ng mga 3:00pm. Di na namin napansin ang ulan kasi masarap ang halu-halo and lugaw na handa during our snack time. The big event is during dinner time. We were in the pool side that night and after the dinner, an exiting program started in which every group presented their cheer and dance number. Suppose to be umaga un before the game pero kasi ung ibang group eh di pa prepared. Part of the program also is our version of Wowowie's Hephep!!! Hurray!!! Well most of my officemates dont know how to play the game. Kaya lahat ng participants mejo pressured. And the rest of the evening, videoke time and inuman session. Lahat lasing..lahat masaya.. But we are so thankful that inspite of the recession and sobrang pagtitipid..we still made it to come up with a summer outing. Kudos to the recreation committee who gave their effort and time for making this company activity possible. Now i'll give you a preview of the resort and it's landscape.

A Game for Bloggers, Backlink to Me!

Author: admin // Category: ,
Here is a new blog game that we all can play. It is called BackLink To Me. This is a new and fun blog game that we all can play, which will help us increase our backlinks. Backlinks, as we all know, is the foundation to a successful or increased Google PageRank. If you want to increase your Google PageRank, you have to increase the number of backlinks to your site and almost as importantly, your secondary or (deep linked) pages. Backlinks are a collection of other pages on the Net that link back to your site or page within your site. Playing the new blog game, BackLink To Me will help you increase the number of sites that link to your site.

Hello! My Name is Crisiboy. My website is at
JologsNaYuppie.blogspot.com I have a BackLink to TheMissingPen.blogspot.com Here is how the game works:
1. Create a new post and title it, New Blog Game - BackLink To Me.
2. Copy my entire post and paste it into your new post.
3. Change my name to your name.
4. Change my website address to your website address
5.Change the name of the person I have a backlink to my name! (Change JologsNaYuppie.blogspot.com link to the link of this post to make a connected chain of blogs)
6. Link my name back to the url of this post!

By participating in this blog game your site and one deep link page within your site will be a link in a huge chain of blogs that are all connected together. Google bots visit our sites daily (not sure if you knew that). By keeping our chain of links all together in a continuously growing circuit, we gain and increase a united linking strength. I want those Google Bots to visit all of our pages so that we all can have an improved Google PageRank.

If you decide to play the new blog game, please remember to link directly to this post, not my home page. I already have a link to that here on this post.

Please write a quick comment here on this post to let me know you are playing! That way I can keep track.

Have Fun!

Paintball Challenge

Author: admin // Category: ,
Last month, it was a great Saturday morning, our company had the Paintball Challenge 2009 at Global Gutz, The Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. Actually this is the 2nd time na nagkaroon kami ng ganitong activities. Before, we had this kind of activity sa Antipolo. Well if i will compare, mas maganda ung site sa antipolo unlike sa The Fort. The aim of the game is just like you are having an artificial war. You need to have a gun in order to kill your enemy. Pero sympre the bullet is not the real bullet. It is composed of liquid paint. Pero masakit pa rin pag tumama sya sa body mo. Sayang nga lamang because our team did not win the game, pang 3rd lang kami. Pero abg importante dun nagenjoy kaming lahat. Masarap pa ang naging lunch namin courtesy of Contis'.. For those yuppies out there who are interested to engage in this kind of adventurous activity, just visit the link enclosed. Here are some of our pics.
